Tree Felling & Removal
Removal of trees can vary in complexity with regards to position, access, surrounding hazards and location.
Taking these factors into account, removals can be done in various ways; by felling the tree from the base, section felling the tree with specialist climbing and lowering equipment, and with the help of hired cranes and access equipment. Removals are generally taken to ground level, leaving the tree stump which can also be treated or removed using our specialist stump grinding service.
Dead & Dangerous Trees
As a tree owner you could be liable should your tree fail and injure a person or their property. Unfortunately, trees do have a life cycle and will eventually die causing them to become dangerous. Tree’s can also become dangerous through storm damage, a lack of proper maintenance and the results of a range of pests and diseases.
We specialise in the removal of dead and dangerous trees. As a tree owner you have a duty of care and are responsible for ensuring the safety of the surrounding area. We recommend a site visit of any trees you think may be dead or dangerous, to determine the best possible outcome – we also undertake work that has been assessed as dangerous by the local council. .
Tree Crown & Hedge Reduction
If you are looking to reduce the height and density of one of your trees or hedges, the process of crown reduction can help to do this in a safe and aesthetically pleasing way.
It is important when reducing tree crowns that limbs are reduced to a suitable growth point or branch collar, to maintain the tree's health and not promote unwanted reaction growth. This can also help to reduce the effects of shading to its surroundings, meaning you can maintain a healthier and more stable environment for the whole of your space.
We often recommend a reduction of your branch work however different trees will require varying levels of reduction based on species, age, and available growth points.
Deadwood & Crown Cleaning
It’s not uncommon for trees to produce deadwood, however this can often become dangerous and messy for your garden. Deadwooding and crown cleaning is the removal of any dead or defected limbs and debris within the crown of the tree. Deadwooding will remove any limbs that would cause injury or damage if it was to fall, leaving your tree looking healthy.
Pollarding & Coppicing
Pollarding is the removal of the trees canopy to the main framework which will allow the tree to regenerate a new crown and stop your trees from getting too big. This will start a maintenance cycle and trees are often re-pollard on a 5-to-10-year basis depending on the species.
Coppicing is another form of woodland management which involves repetitive removal on the same tree stump near to ground level allowing shoots to regrow from the main stump.
Crown Raising
Crown raising is a technique of removing or shortening the lower limbs of the tree's crown. This is often used where trees overhang footpaths and roads to allow for better access. By raising the crown of the tree this gives you more clearance from the ground to the lower canopy.

"It's surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us, but for all life on Earth."
Sir David Attenborough
We all want to do more to care for our planet, that’s why all waste material from the work we carry out is recycled. Timber is seasoned and cut into firewood that can then be sold locally. All Brash waster is chipped and stored at our yard to be collected and used at biomass fuelled power stations. Soiled brash and hedge trimmings are composted ready to put the nutrients back into the ground.
Would you like to keep the wood from your tree? No problem, just let us know when we come to look at the work.

Trees can be protected by either a Conservation area or a Tree preservation order (TPO). If I could give more stars I would. James and his team reduced a laurel hedge that was significantly out of control. They were prompt, efficient and removed all the debris associated with the job. Competitively priced, thrilled with the end result and would have no hesitation in recommending them. I will certainly be using them in the future
James and his team provided a professional service. They arrived each morning on time, efficiently carrying out the removal of four trees and a hedge in our garden. They took care not to damage the lawn whilst removing the wood and made sure they left everything tidy before leaving. I would be very happy to recommend them.
